Key Responsibilities
- Client Onboarding: Oversee and manage the firm’s central onboarding process, ensuring it aligns with strategic priorities and internal Policies, Controls, and Procedures (PCPs).
- Team Leadership:Â Line manage and motivate the central onboarding team, allocating and delegating work to ensure operational efficiency.
- Compliance Oversight:Â Perform quality assurance checks and approvals on client and matter onboarding compliance checks. Draft escalation reports for high-risk matters.
- Training & Guidance:Â Provide training and ongoing support to the onboarding team while advising legal and business support teams on internal processes and procedures.
- Policy Implementation:Â Maintain central registers, manage the shared compliance inbox, and administer events in the annual compliance calendar.
- Collaboration:Â Assist the MLRO in managing compliance queries and cross-functional projects to improve compliance processes across the business.

Ideal Candidate
- Experience:Â At least 5 years of line management experience within a risk and compliance function, ideally in legal or financial services.
- Technical Knowledge:Â Strong understanding of anti-money laundering regulations and obligations in the legal or financial sector.
- Prior Experience:Â Leading an onboarding/KYC team.
- Attention to Detail:Â Proven ability to work methodically with exceptional attention to detail.
- Leadership Skills:Â A proactive and determined individual with strong problem-solving abilities and resilience in high-pressure environments.
- Qualifications:Â A degree is required; AML-related qualifications are advantageous.
- Communication:Â Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
